Drakehounds are large, long-legged hunting dogs covered in shaggy grey fur. Their muzzles are long and narrow, and the head of a grown drakehound reaches an adult person’s chest. The name comes from the drakes they hunt.
Their movements are quick and surprisingly light for an animal of their size. That lightness hides considerable strength: a sudden lunge can knock an adult off their feet. Drakehounds are not naturally vicious, but they are powerful animals and must be handled with care.
Notes
- A drakehound can be tamed, though not every one will accept a handler. They are hunting dogs, not guard dogs, and respond best to patience and clear commands.
